University Of Arkansas Golfer Joins Her Father For Family Affair At D1 Little Rock | D1 Daily

The community at D1 Training has often been described as a family, but for Anna Kate and Joey Nichols, it literally is family.

Anna Kate, a golfer at the University of Arkansas, has trained at D1 Little Rock for the past six years, joining her father who has been at D1 for 14 years.

Living up to its name, Anna Kate said D1 has been very beneficial to her collegiate golf career.

“D1 was such a great place for me to start, especially when I really started getting serious about golf, because I got the real discipline of getting up early, coming to the gym and getting a hard workout in, and that really mimicked what college sports are like," said Anna Kate.

Joey, with his experience at D1, knew it was the perfect place to bring his daughter to take her game to the next level.

“I knew that the workouts here would be great in terms of strength and flexibility, and the coaches are great, and I knew they would take good care of her and push her hard, but at the same time, it would be a good environment,” he said.

Anna Kate was named to the 2024 All-USA Today Girls Golf Team and is currently ranked No. 303 of over 1,700 Division I female golfers.
