D1 Training Coach Summit 2026: D1 Coaches Lead Training Session At Manning Passing Academy

NEW ORLEANS — The 2026 D1 Training Coach Summit kicked off Thursday, with more than 100 coaches from across the D1 network descending on New Orleans for two days of education, experience and activities.
One of the first day highlights is attending the Manning Passing Academy at the Nicholls State University campus in Thibodaux, La. This is the 17th straight year that D1 has led the campers through a training session to kick off the camp.
This year, more than 1,200 campers hit the field with D1 coaches leading the young players through active warmups, speed training, agility drills and more. Nearby, Peyton Manning and Eli Manning led 40-plus college quarterbacks, who serve as counselors at the 4-day camp, through QB drills, giving hands-on instruction to players like Notre Dame's CJ Carr, Ole Miss' Trinidad Chambliss, Ohio State's Julian Sayin and Georgia's Gunner Stockton among others.
Earlier in the day, D1 coaches spent time in meeting rooms at the Royal Sonesta French Quarter, listening to presentations and participating in continuing education sessions as part of the D1 Coach Summit.
