D1 Training Embraces Winter Olympics, Offers Opportunities For Athletes | D1 Daily

With the 2026 Winter Olympics officially underway in Milan, Italy, many people are seeing what disciplined, dedicated training can lead to and are looking to start themselves.
D1 Alexandria in Virginia is offering the perfect opportunity for youth athletes to begin olympic-style training Monday for free.
The facility will be holding an open event for athletes age 7-18 to work through a Winter Games-themed workout, including events like cross-county skiing, luge, bobsled and more.
“As a parent, you want to encourage your kids to pursue their goals. At the same time, it can be tough to know where to start, especially for something as intensive as athletics, said Tom Fukuda, D1 Alexandria owner.
D1 Alexandria is not the only location hosting olympic-themed events. Two Arizona locations, D1 Gilbert and D1 Chandler, are joining forces to host the 2026 D1 Games, a competitive event for adult athletes.
Finally, some D1 athletes are being trained by Olympians themselves. Two-time Olympian Donald Scott hosted Winter Speed Training Camp to cap off 2025 at D1 Training Novi.
