D1 Training Announces New Campaign with 12-Time NBA All Star Chris Paul

D1 Training marks their longtime partnership with Chris Paul, a veteran NBA player and new guard for the San Antonio Spurs, by unveiling a new campaign that will rollout throughout the Fall.

D1’s relationship with Paul began back in 2015 when he opened a D1 location in North Carolina. A few years later, Paul was added as a brand ambassador and partner across the entire D1 brand. Other D1 brand ambassadors and partners include Peyton Manning, Tim Tebow, Von Miller and many others.

D1 Training surrounds athletes with encouragement and community to help them get to the next level. Paul, an owner and partner of D1 Training, says it’s the sense of community that originally drew him to the brand.

“I’ve been a part of D1 for over ten years and I believe in it,” said Paul. “When I go to a gym, I want to be surrounded by people who have the same mindset as me. I think sometimes other people just give me a different energy, and so the mission is getting better, getting stronger, [as a] community. That's why I got involved and that's why I've enjoyed it.”

Paul recently shot the new campaign out at the D1 Training location in Torrance, California with adult and scholastic athletes. The goal of the shoot was to show Chris’ engagement in the brand and how accessible D1 is to all athletes. D1 Training serves tens of thousands of athletes each year throughout 100+ open locations and growing. The brand has more than 250 locations currently in development, adding more each month.

“When you train at D1, you aren’t joining a gym—you are joining a team making you better,” said Paul.

And he isn’t only speaking about the athletes who train at D1 Facilities. D1 Training franchise owners have a similar experience when they invest in a facility for their own communities. The D1 Training network is far and wide, with world-class owners, coaches, staff, and home-office team.

The new Chris Paul campaign follows one released this past winter by Tim Tebow.

“Chris has been a great partner of D1 for a long time,” said Matt Toy, VP of Marketing for D1. “We love getting Chris to our D1 locations. This campaign was special because it truly showed how D1 is for all types of athletes. Chris easily relates to athletes trying to achieve goals, no matter if it is a kid trying to make a sports team or an adult trying to lose weight.”

The D1 Training mission differentiates the brand from other fitness franchises by creating a space for and supporting athletes of all ages. D1 Training is a pioneer of scholastic training and developed age-appropriate programs for athletes as young as seven years old, as well as adult programs for everyday people to pros.

“I think it's just one of those things that doesn't have an age limit,” said Paul. “You may be an adult who used to be an athlete, and now just getting back onto the field. One of my really good friends always says, ‘just keep moving, keep moving,’ and if you can get to a space where you're comfortable and someone’s going to push you to keep moving, then why not? D1 is that space.”
