UPDATE: D1 Training Boerne Places 4th in Little League World Series

What a series! We couldn’t be prouder of the talented Little League ball players out of Boerne, Texas, who left it all out on the field during their run at Howard J. Lamade Stadium in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

With a 3-2 record for the series, the Texas team representing the Southwest region of the U.S., lost the U.S. Championship to the Southeastern team from Lake Mary, Florida in an exciting game to the finish. Florida scored nine runs in the last two innings of the game, beating Texas 10-7, and went on to win the whole tournament against the international champs from Chinese Taipei.

Texas played the Latin American champs and finished fourth with a 4-3 loss to Venezuela.

The Boerne boys, many of whom train at D1 Training Boerne, were the ones to watch throughout the tournament for their talent on the field, and their character and sportsmanship throughout. Despite the loss, the players, who are the new sweethearts of Boerne, arrived home Monday afternoon and were escorted from the airport directly to a parade in their honor in downtown Boerne.

The entire team has been applauded for their poise on a national stage. Doc Mogford, Caden Guffey, and Kole Newsom each hit home runs during the tournament, while Hurst, and Mogford as well, batted over .600. Newsom was also featured on ABC World News Tonight during their America Strong segment.
