The Dumbbell Goblet Squat is a staple exercise used across all our training at D1, from Rookie to adult. For kids, it’s a great way to introduce load to an exercise, for teens and adults, the heavier the weight, the more results you’ll see.

In this video, Coach TV from D1 Training Mont Belvieu says this is an underrated movement that fits well into any workout. Watch and learn as he walks us through the Dumbbell Goblet Squat.

  1. Select an appropriate weight/dumbbell
  2. Stand with feet shoulder width apart
  3. Toes pointed out
  4. Use both hands to hold one end of the dumbbell, like a goblet, close to your chest
  5. Take a deep breath in
  6. Exhale as you squat down to required depth, with your hips down and back
  7. Big drive as you stand back up, feet flat on the ground, squeeze your glutes at the top of the movement
