The great thing about D1 is that there are different exercises every day, working a different part of my body. I don’t get bored. Even though I’m not an outstanding athlete, I feel like an athlete when I am here. Both my sons are into sports, my husband utilizes the personal training, so we all love coming here. Four years ago I came to D1 as a guest. I was always an overweight child and this type of environment intimidated me. I thought it was a place just for athletes. Everyone here has been so encouraging and motivating, and now I feel like I am the athlete I never was. It’s finally here.
"Jamier joined D1, his first sports training program, to increase his speed, strength, and to maintain a good weight. A poor diet and inconsistency with his workouts were fault points for Jamier in the past, but the motivation he has received from his coaches, as well as his peers in the Developmental program, has been vital in Jamier's interest and success with his fitness. The coaches at D1 are so encouraging; they got me in the front door when I was scared to death. They get to know you and give you the kind of attention you’re not going to get at other gyms. I’ve lost 50 pounds, but I have also gained so much confidence.
There are a lot of heart issues in our family and I’m prone to that. I want to live a long life and live it, not just show up. I only needed one workout to know that D1 is where I wanted to be.
