D1 Training NFL Prospect Landon Robinson Shows Out At Navy Pro Day After Combine Snub | D1 Daily

When the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine invitations went out, one name stood out for its absence: Navy defensive tackle Landon Robinson.
Despite being a First-Team All-American and the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Robinson didn’t receive an invite to Indianapolis. Instead of dwelling on the snub, he got back to work.
Robinson has spent the past couple months in the D1 Combine Training program, working with D1 Senior Director of Coaching and Pro Training Clif Marshall. He's put in time on the turf and in the racks with Marshall at D1 Cool Springs and D1 Carmel, and also worked with former NFL player Austin Brown at D1 Reston.
When his moment arrived at Navy’s Pro Day on Thursday, Robinson delivered.
Big Numbers For Landon Robinson at Navy Pro Day
According to PFSN College, Robinson’s results would have ranked among the top defensive tackles at the NFL Combine:
Long-time draft analyst Tony Pauline of Essentially Sports wrote:
He measured 5-foot-11, 291 pounds, two more than his weight from the Shrine. Robinson completed 30 reps on the bench, hit 32.5 inches in the vertical, and 9-foot-2 in the broad. His forty time came in as fast as 4.78 seconds, with a 20-yard shuttle of 4.5 seconds and a three-cone of 7.3 seconds. I’m told that when put through running back drills, Robinson caught the ball extremely well.
Marshall said Robinson’s performance was the result of months of focused preparation.
“Despite being a 1st Team All-American and the American Conference Player of the Year, Landon Robinson was left off the NFL Combine invite list,” Marshall said. “But we don’t waste energy on what we can’t control — we focus on what we can. No invite. No problem. Just production, preparation, and proving it when the lights come on.”
Preparing for the NFL
Robinson is one of roughly four dozen athletes training through the D1 Combine Training program at D1 facilities across the country ahead of their Pro Days and the 2026 NFL Draft in April.
Marshall sees similarities between Robinson and another player he trained early in his career: former Cincinnati Bengals All-Pro defensive tackle Geno Atkins. Both share similar size, strength, and explosive quickness along the interior defensive line.
Robinson’s agility numbers — particularly his shuttle and three-cone times — highlight the type of short-area burst that NFL teams value at defensive tackle.
With the draft approaching, Robinson’s Pro Day performance gave scouts plenty to study — and proved that preparation can turn opportunity into results.
