EJ Williams Jr. Turns Heads at Indiana Pro Day After Training at D1 Deerfield Beach | D1 Daily

Former Indiana wide receiver EJ Williams Jr., who trained at D1 Training Deerfield Beach, put together one of the most impressive performances at Indiana’s Pro Day on Wedneday, showcasing elite athleticism and playmaking ability in front of NFL scouts from all 32 teams.
At nearly 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, Williams Jr. proved he’s more than just size. In the broad jump, he exploded for a 10’7” mark—a number that immediately turned heads and reinforced his rare combination of length and lower-body power. He followed that up with a 40-yard dash time in the 4.4 range, further cementing himself as a legitimate vertical threat at the next level.
The highlight of the day, however, came during positional drills. Williams Jr. delivered what many called the “catch of the day,” hauling in a deep ball from quarterback Fernando Mendoza—widely projected as the No. 1 overall pick—while a national audience watched live on NFL Network. The play was a perfect display of Williams' ability to track the ball, extend, and finish.
Williams Jr.’s Pro Day success didn’t happen by accident. He was one of a select group of athletes who prepared for the NFL Draft with the D1 Combine Training program at Deerfield Beach, where he trained under the guidance of former NFL wide receiver Chris Chambers. The focused, position-specific work helped refine his route running, explosiveness, and overall performance heading into one of the biggest moments of his career.

“EJ is very humble and consistent in his training and communication. He's so much fun to be around and was a great addition to our crew at D1 Deerfield Beach,” says Chambers. "At Indiana, he played his role and took advantage of the opportunity to make plays whenever his number was called. He'll be a great addition to any NFL team that wants a focused, mature player."
During his college career, Williams Jr. developed into a reliable and dynamic receiver. After beginning his career at Clemson, he transferred to Indiana, where he used his size and athleticism to make an impact in the passing game for the 2026 CFP National Champion Hoosiers. Known for his ability to stretch the field and win contested catches, he consistently showed flashes of NFL-level talent.
Now, with a standout Pro Day performance and momentum on his side, EJ Williams Jr. has positioned himself firmly on the radar of NFL decision-makers. His blend of size, speed, and big-play ability—combined with the work he put in at D1—could make him one of the more intriguing wide receiver prospects in this year’s draft class.
