Brain Tumor Survivor Corey Hodge Prepares For FBI Academy At D1 Mont Belvieu | D1 Daily

Corey Hodge was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2011. He needed to limit physical activity as much as possible.
Fifteen years later, he's training at D1 Mont Belvieu (TX), a suburb of Houston, and was recently accepted into the FBI Academy. Hodge has spent over 20 years in law enforcement and currently works as a Sheriff Deputy for Harris County.
“The good thing about this gym is they care about the individual,” Hodge said. “They train, but they care about me as a person.”
His coach at D1, Kiara Priske, has been equally as thankful for the opportunity.
“It has been an amazing experience working with Corey and being part of his journey. My job has been to motivate and to push him to his hard work, dedication and consistency, anything is possible,” she said.
Hodge wasted no time quickly establishing himself in the D1 community and making a lot of progress.
"Corey has been putting in the work on his motor skills — moving better, getting stronger, and showing up with purpose every single session," the post reads.
Congratulations to Corey! We're excited to keep hearing about your wins!
