Retired Air Force Pilot, 79, Stays Young With Regular Strength Training At D1 Niceville | D1 Daily

Age is just a number.
Kerry Killebrew, a 79-year-old retired Air Force fighter pilot, has been making sure of that at D1 Training Niceville (Fla.).
“My training results speak for themselves,” he said in the post's caption. “Based on the InBody Mass Index Scale, my BMI increased, my Body Fat Mass decreased, and my Skeletal Muscle Mass increased (more muscles and less fat). I believe I exceeded my goal.”
Since high school, Killebrew has been a runner. He runs about four miles per day, six days a week. But he never focused on strength training.
At D1, he changed that.
“Upper body was the focus, but he did not ignore lower body, strength training, balance, etc.” said the D1 Niceville staff. "He trained with our head coach, Coach (William) Cotten, who did an amazing job with him.
Although Killebrew only lives in Niceville for a few months at a time, he wants to bring what he learned with him back to his home in North Carolina.
“I plan to continue using some of the D1 Training exercises by adding them to my routine, daily workout schedule of stretching, push-ups, sit-ups, walking and running that I maintain year-round,” he said.
