At the halfway point of the D1 $10K National Challenge, D1 athletes are showing no signs of stopping.
Here's another updated look at what they've been up to as they prepare for the home stretch:
D1 Newtown
D1 Newton in Langhorne, Pennsylvania recently highlighted an athlete who's been putting in work and some core concepts to maintain motivation.
D1 Armonk
Athletes at D1 Armonk (N.Y.) have been putting in work, even on early Saturday mornings.
D1 Baton Rouge
Finally, D1 Baton Rouge has been doing Tip Tuesdays as well, this week highlighting the differences between side lunges and side squats.
How The D1 National Challenge Works
The National Challenge runs from March 2 to April 11. $10,000 will be handed out to the winners, and here's how you can rack up points:
- 1 Point Per Class Attended (Max 5 Per Week)
- 1 Point Per Percentage of Body Fat Lost
- 1 Point Per Percentage of Muscle Gained
- 1 Point Per Social Media Post (Once Weekly)
Each week, there is a new micro challenge to keep athletes engaged and focused on incremental progress. Week 4's micro challenge is Hydration.
Week 1: AccountabilityWeek 2: 10,000 StepsWeek 3: Protein
Week 4: Hydration - aim for half your body weight in ounces each day! Example: a 160-pound person should drink 80 ounces of water daily.
Week 5: Mobility & Recovery
Week 6: Sleep
