Kylie Welker Of D1 Coralville Wins NCAA Wrestling Title: 'Dare To Dream Big' | D1 Daily

Collegiate wrestler and D1 Coralville athlete Kylie Welker recently won the women's wrestling 180-pound title at the first-ever NCAA Women's Wrestling Championship.
Coming off a 27-0 season which saw her win a National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championship title last year and a recent gold medal in the U23 World Championship, it would have been easy for Welker to take her foot off the gas. Instead she doubled down working at D1 Coralville ahead of the inaugural NCAA women's championship, also held in Coralville.
“One thing that never changes is having a solid place to get a workout in,” she said in an Instagram post from the summer. “D1 Training in Coralville has been my steady go-to in the middle of the chaos.”
D1 Coralville owner Lisa Lepic said that Welker's work has inspired many at the location.
“Kylie's national championship is a powerful reminder of what happens when relentless work ethic meets belief in yourself,” Lepic said. “Watching Kylie Welker make history as the first NCAA women's wrestling champion is inspiring for every young athlete who dares to dream big.”
Congratulations to Kylie! We look forward to following her career.
