How D1 Coral Springs Helps Fuel High School Baseball Program's Championship Formula | D1 Daily

For the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School baseball team, D1 Coral Springs has become more than just a place to train.
The Eagles have made light work of the highest competitive division in Florida, winning six-straight state championships in the Class 7A division. Since August of 2025, the Eagles' varsity and junior varsity teams have decided to take their training to the next level by gathering at D1 Coral Springs twice each week to develop the strength, speed, endurance, and resilience needed to compete at the highest level. Along the way, the partnership has helped support a championship program, unite a community during difficult times, and reinforce that success is measured by more than wins and losses.

When asked about what stands out about the historic high school baseball team, D1 Coral Springs owner Justin Williams says, “They understand the standard and what it takes to be great”.
Each week, players are put through professional level training that focuses on building total body strength, improving speed and explosiveness, increasing endurance, and reducing the risk of injury. Rather than simply lifting weights, the teams are moved through structured sessions led by the coaches of D1 Coral Springs who tailor workouts to help them perform at the highest level.

“Collectively as a group they’ve all progressed physically” Williams said.
The group sessions include every player on the roster. From developing underclassmen to future professionals like Gio Rojas, the former No. 3 overall prospect in the Class of 2026 and the nation's top-ranked left-handed pitcher who was selected 16th overall by the Texas Rangers in the 2026 MLB draft.
Rojas joins Christian Rodriguez, Roman Anthony, and Jesus Luzardo as notable Eagle alumni who have made it to the MLB.

His success reflects not only his exceptional talent, but also the championship culture surrounding the program. A culture strengthened through consistency and a commitment to getting better every single day.
As the Eagles pursued its sixth consecutive state championship on the field, they also faced an unexpected challenge off the field when head coach Todd Fitz-Gerald’s wife, Colleen, was diagnosed with brain cancer.
For Williams and the team at D1 Coral Springs, supporting the Fitz-Gerald family was a natural extension of the close relationships they’ve built with the Stoneman Douglas community.
With his own children attending Stoneman Douglas, Williams has deep roots with the school community. “This is why I started here at D1, to have a positive effect on my community,” Williams said.
To help support coach Fitz-Gerald and Colleen, D1 Coral Springs organized a community workout fundraiser, welcoming members and local residents to train together for a cause. Every dollar raised was donated directly to the family’s GoFundMe, providing financial support while demonstrating the power the community can have while uniting behind one of its own.
Colleen’s GoFundMe has now raised over $155,000 and is at 87 percent of their total goal.
That spirit of community has become one of the defining characteristics of D1 Coral Springs.
Whether it is developing future college athletes, preparing the next generation of professionals, or supporting families through their toughest moments, the facility strives to make an impact that goes beyond physical performance.
For the Marjory Stoneman Douglas baseball team, the partnership has become an extension of the championship culture established over the last several years. Players continue to push one another in the weight room, the same as they do on the field, knowing that every workout contributes to something bigger than individual success.

As another talented roster prepares for the future, the foundation remains the same for the Marjory Stoneman Douglas baseball: consistent work, expert coaching, and a community that refuses to let anyone face challenges alone. At D1 Coral Springs, those values are built into every workout, becoming another piece of the championship formula for one of the nation’s premiere high school baseball programs.
