In her twenties, influencer Alexia Gonzalez loved strength training, using it as her own form of personal therapy.

But when COVID closed gyms, she switched to hot yoga while still always wanting to get back into strength training.

So, when D1 Training invited her to workout at D1 St. Petersburg, Gonzalez had no idea what to expect.

She ended up loving it and wrote about her experiences on her blog The Gala Life.

“Walking into D1 Training St. Petersburg feels like walking into a gym your best friend owns — warm, welcoming, a little loud, and instantly energizing,” she said.

Part of that environment is because of Coach Josh, who Gonzalez says pushed her to be the best version of herself.

He pushed me, challenged me, corrected my form (bless him), and reminded me what it feels like to really activate muscles that have been on sabbatical since 2019,” she said. “I was sweating, I was laughing, I was shaking, and yes, I was dramatically gasping for air like a woman in her fitness comeback era.”

Gonzalez said D1 Training is going to help kick off a new era for her, one where she feels healthier and stronger.

Franchise Focus

D1 Mooresville is hosting a 5-week baseball clinic that will be hosted by Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher River Ryan.
