Recovery, Focus & Performance: How D1 Colorado Springs Helps Support Pro Soccer | D1 Daily

Recovery is a critical part of performance. And at D1 Training Colorado Springs, it’s built into the routine of  Switchbacks FC, the local pro soccer team.

For the past eight years, D1 coach Kitten Dupreez has led the team through post-training breathing, flow stretching, and yoga sessions designed to help players reset both physically and mentally.

Held immediately after training, these sessions create a space where athletes can relax, recover, and refocus. “They know this is a safe place,” Dupreez said. “It adds another piece to the recovery that every athlete needs.”

The impact is clear. Players credit the consistent work with helping them stay in tune with their bodies, improve mobility, and maintain performance throughout the season.
