Devo Training

Designed for athletes ages 12-14 who are ready for more advanced, performance-driven training.

THE NEXT STEP IN ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT

At this stage for athletes (ages 12-14), we introduce structured resistance training - using dumbbells, barbells, bands, and bodyweight- to safely build strength, coordination, and control. Every athlete starts at their true ability level, not just their age, ensuring they learn proper technique before increasing intensity or load.

Devo Weight Room

What Your Athlete Will Learn

Devo athletes begin learning how to train with resistance while continuing to build on their movement foundation. This includes:

  • Introduction to resistance training (dumbbells, barbells, and bands)
  • Continued development of foundational movement patterns
  • Exposure to structured strength and performance work
  • Learning how to handle load in a controlled environment

Our coaches make real-time decisions within every session, adjusting movements through progressions and regressions so athletes are consistently challenged without sacrificing form or safety. As confidence grows, athletes develop power, speed, and body awareness while continuing to refine movement patterns.

Youth Training

Meeting Athletes Where They Are

  • Starting athletes at the appropriate level for their current ability

  • Adjusting movements through progressions and regressions within each class

  • Provide coaching decisions that match each athlete’s needs in real time

  • Our classes and coaches are dynamic, allowing each athlete to progress at the right pace

Supporting Healthy Growth

Training during this stage is designed to support overall development. Devo training helps promote:

  • Proper muscle development
  • Bone development
  • Cardiovascular development

Beyond physical development, Devo Training helps athletes build discipline, confidence, and resilience during a critical stage of growth. It’s not just about getting stronger—it’s about learning how to train the right way, setting the foundation for long-term performance and success in sport and life.

"Highly recommend D1 Training Edmond. Both of my boys are training here, one in Rookie class and one in Devo, and the results are real. They're getting stronger, faster and noticeably more confident, both in sports and day to day. The coaches are knowledgable, engaged, and great with kids, and the staff runs a professional, well organized program. The training is structured, age appropriate, and clearly focused on long term athletic development, not just workouts. If you're looking for a place that actually develops young athletes the right way, this is it."

"I know you guys don't know this I'm sure, but Kj lost his dad 3 days before his 14th bday last year. His dad passed from diabetes at the age of 40. It came a day before his first high school game. His excitement to get on the field and make his dad and his dream come true came with an incredible sadness. Even through a great deal of hurt and pain, with his faith, he has fought a great battle and overcome so much. Last year was a lot of firsts for him. First year in high school, a freshman, first year ever playing tackle football, and first year without his father. D1 came at a time where he needed a bright light. Something to carry him through. I have tears In my eyes right now writing all of this thinking of all he has come through. I just sincerely with my heart want to thank all of you. For believing in him, supporting him, pushing him. Making him laugh and challenging him. His first practice was yesterday at school and after I got him he was so happy. The coaches noticed him and were calling him out for his speed, his route running, and his team mates all took notice! He was beaming!! Thank you guys all so much! A huge thanks to Joey for pushing him and believing in him. He always said, D1 is my secret weapon and I believe it. Thank you guys for also treating us like family!"

"We brought our son to D1 in hopes of helping him develop physically, but more importantly developing the habits, consistency, and accountability it will take to succeed on and off the field. We feel very fortunate to have him training with Coach Von. I can't say enough about what an amazing influence he's been in our son's life. He's helped to build and reinforce all of the key characteristics that are so vitally important at his age (HS-Freshman). Coach Von pushes him hard and holds him accountable, and we've seen so much growth in our son's confidence and athletic ability. His strength and muscle definition are night and day from when we started just a few months ago. From the front desk, to all of the other coaches we've only seen dedicated, hard-working, caring, and friendly people. I can't recommend it enough..."

"My 14 year old needed some additional strength training to prepare for baseball. D1 Northshore's staff has been there every step of the way in his development. A great introduction to any teen looking to get stronger and learn the right methods to strength and fitness training. "

"My daughter started 2 months ago at D1 to get ready for the track season. Focusing on explosiveness for the long jump event. Last year her season best was 16ft 7 inches in her first meet, with a first place finish. She added 6 inches to her jump from joining D1 in 2 months. Cait wait to see what the rest of the season holds. 17ft or bust, thanks D1!"

"This training has really helped my son's agility and foot work that I know will help him in the fall for tackle football. It's a great value for the quality of work and development go skills. Coach Malcom is my son's favorite! He's excellent at what he does."

"D1 Northshore has been life changing for my young teen. He's transformed both his body and his mindset. He was bullied at school for not being a sports kid and found a home at D1. The coaches are kind, inclusive, and encouraging. He's motivated to show up every day and makes measurable progress. He's made great friends and truly feels like an athlete. We are so happy to have found a home for him here and cannot say enough good things about it."

"D1 has been amazing great experience for my 13yo son who was looking to increase speed, agility, and strength. The owners are dedicated and visible to the programs. The trainers are athletes and truly caring to these young men and women! Highly recommend."

"This place is truly life changing. My kids love coming here because they are seeing results. It is great for an off season workout that will only help. Coach Mark has an amazing staff and they are so good with the kids. I also like that they offer little special classes and 1-1 if your kids need a little improving on the sports skill."

"Our son has loved training with Coach Tom. They have a fantastic connection and I love that he's learning to lift weights safely at his own pace. I highly recommend this team and facility!"
