Rookie

Introduces young athletes (ages 7-11) to the fundamentals of movement.

CONFIDENT MOVEMENT STARTS HERE

Rookie Training at D1 is where young athletes (ages 7-11) build the foundation for everything that comes next. Instead of rushing into advanced movements, we focus on teaching proper mechanics first - how to run, jump, land, balance, and change direction safely and efficiently. By developing these core movement patterns early, athletes gain confidence while reducing risk of injury and avoiding bad habits that are hard to break later on.

WHAT YOUR ATHLETE WILL LEARN

Every athlete is met at their individual starting point. Our coaches guide them through progressions and regressions in real time, ensuring each workout is both challenging and achievable. In a high-energy, supportive environment, athletes improve coordination, body control, and overall athleticism all while having fun and building a lifelong love for training. Athletes will learn:

  • Begin to understand how their body moves and responds

  • Develop coordination and body awareness

Rookie Weight Training

Introduction to the Weight Room

Rookie athletes are gradually introduced to the training environment, including:

  • Being exposed to foundational exercises in a controlled setting

The focus is not on intensity, it’s on learning and building a strong foundation.

"My son Sawyer has been coming to D1 for about a month now. We absolutely love coming. The staff are so nice and you can tell they really care about the kids performance and future in sports and fitness. If your kid is a high-level athlete like mine, I highly suggest brining your kid to D1."

"My son has had a great experience at D1. I love that they focus on building the right foundation with proper form and technique while also pushing him to reach his potential. The trainers are patient, motivating, and truly care about the kids they work with. You can tell they love what they do, and it shows in how they train and support my son. Great program for building endurance, confidence, and strong fundamentals. They works with you to support your goals and for us, have met that!"

"D1 has been amazing for my 7 year-old son! It's a great way for him to stay active, have fun, and get ready for the upcoming football season. He absolutely loves going to his Rookie class. Coach Juju is fantastic with my kids, high-energy, encouraging, and always engaged. My son genuinely looks forward to every training day because of the fun environment, well-structured workouts, and enthusiastic trainers like Juju.

"Brought my grandson here to see if he would like it. He really liked it. He wants to go back every day. The staff were great with him right from the beginning. If he didn't understand something they would work with him. Great place for him to start training. If I could give them more stars I would."

"Highly recommend D1 Training Edmond. Both of my boys are training here, one in the Rookie class and one in Devo, and the results are real. They're getting stronger, faster, and noticeably more confident, both in sports and day to day. The coaches are knowledgable, engaged, and great with kids, and the staff runs a professional, well organized program. The training is structured, age appropriate, and clearly focused on long term athletic development, not just workouts. If you're looking for a place that actually develops young athletes the right way, this is it."

"We've had such a great experience at D1 Training for our 8-year-old son, who has some coordination challenges. Coach Marcus truly goes above and beyond. He takes the time to make sure my son understands and uses the correct technique, while also pushing him in a positive, encouraging way. My son feels supported, more confident, and actually *excited* to go to training. Which says everything!"

"My 8 year old son has been with D1 the entire month of January. We walk in and are greeted by everyone with smiling faces and lots of energy. The classes are structured, inclusive, and supportive to each child's needs. We are very happy to have D1 in our community and look forward to our little athlete becoming stronger, faster, and more confident."

"D1 has been an excellent experience for our 7 year old and helped him greatly with overall coordination and sports. Classes are structured but fun and the family workouts on Saturdays are an added bonus where we have fun doing the workouts together"
