Professional race car driver Taylor Reimer knows that success on the track starts long before the green flag waves. That’s why the rising motorsports star has spent the past several months training at D1 Training in Mooresville, building the strength and endurance needed to compete at one of the highest levels in racing.

Reimer primarily trains in D1 Mooresville’s group classes while also working one-on-one with Coach Mason Freeman to fine-tune her performance goals. Her focus has been simple: improve endurance, gain strength, and become a more complete athlete behind the wheel.

“She’s always upbeat and ready to work,” said D1 Mooresville owner Matt Jones. “Taylor comes into the noon class every day with a smile on her face and gives great effort.”

That consistency has paid off. Since joining D1, Reimer has made major improvements in both strength and conditioning, key attributes for drivers competing in the physically demanding world of stock car racing. She has also become a strong advocate for the D1 community, referring fellow race car drivers and regularly sharing workout clips from D1 Mooresville on Instagram.

Reimer’s rise in motorsports has been impressive. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she started racing go-karts at  6 years old and eventually became the winningest female driver in the history of Port City Raceway. After a collegiate career as a cheerleader at the University of Oklahoma, she returned to competition and quickly made headlines by becoming the first woman to win a national midget feature race, according to Speed Sport.

Today, Reimer competes in the ARCA Menards Series as part of the Toyota driver development pipeline, continuing her pursuit of a future in NASCAR. She recently added another milestone to her growing résumé with a sixth-place finish at Talladega in April … with a D1 decal on her car!
